White House Correspondent April Ryan Uncovers Her Ancestral Origins Through African Ancestry DNA Test

White House correspondent, April Ryan discussed her highly anticipated book entitled Black Women Will Save the World at the Martin Luther King Library in Washington D.C. for Women’s History Month. The renowned journalist is considered a jewel in Washington political circles, but she is not without her share of detractors and naysayers. This does not stop her from asking tough questions about politics and injustices experienced by African Americans in all aspects of life. One of the revelations to the audience at the book signing was a true eye-opener.

At the end of her book signing, the CEO of African Ancestry presented April Ryan with a genetic reveal. A few months earlier, April Ryan took an African Ancestry DNA test to learn the origins of her maternal ancestry. Gina Paige presented April Ryan with a Certificate of Ancestry that revealed her maternal lineage traces back to the Mende People of Sierra Leone on coastal West Africa.

In the coming months, I plan to explore African Ancestry in more depth as well some of the other popular commercial DNA tests on the market including Ancestry, 23andMe, and MyHeritage in the upcoming months. Are DNA tests the best tool for tracing your family origins and breaking through brick walls?

Have you already taken a commercial DNA test? If so, schedule an appointment today so I can you assist you with tracing your ancestors and breaking through your most difficult brick walls.
